The Age of Miracles

The Age of Miracles is the 3rd Zoe/Rounder release from world renowned singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter. The Age of Miracles has been a work in progress since 2007. The album is a personal exploration of regret and resilience but also a larger, more universal expression of wonder at the times we are living in. Carpenter is backed by an incredible band that includes Matt Rollings (piano, B-3 organ), Russ Kunkel (drums), Duke Levine (electric and acoustic guitar), Glenn Worf (bass), Dan Dugmore (steel and 12 string guitar) and Eric Darken (percussion). Gotta really listen, but well worth it by W. Schultz
If you feel in love with the chapin that sang "shut up and Kiss Me" or those string of uptempo songs that made her a staple in country music you most likley have moved on a few cds ago. However for me, and many other we only tollerated those radio hits to be able to hear the True brilliance of her songwriting then this cd will worth the wait. Chapin is someone who DEMANDS you listen, that is not an easy task in this day but if you take the time to do so, you won't be disapointed. As Chapin Wrote on "Time, Sex and Love", Take the long way home and listen to this brillant work.
